Rain Delay Update

We are currently in a rain, thunder and lightning delay at the Southeast Regionals in Palm Beach Gardens. West Raleigh leads Porter Ridge 4-3 after five innings, with 9U Blue due to the plate in the top of the sixth when the boats dock play resumes. The next update is due around 1:30, but the bad news is that it's currently raining after a brief bit of sunshine a few minutes ago.



However, the lack of a final score does not mean there is no blog material. When the rain first began, 12 nine-year-olds, three coaches, and one scorebook guy were jammed into the dugout. As you can probably imagine, it got pretty loud pretty quickly. That led Coach Bruce to dig deep into his camp counselor bag of tricks and come up with several different games. There was also some excellent creativity with the Frogg Toggs:


But the real excitement happened once the team vacated the dugout, loaded the equipment truck with the gear, and then piled into the team bus. JT really sells this one, and then Asher flips the hat to show he means business:
